How do I find a doctor who speaks English?
We couldn't find an official nationwide list of English-speaking doctors, but a few official tools narrow the search. In an emergency, call 119 first. What to do 1. For everyday problems, start with a neighborhood clinic (의원), and ask by phone or message whether the doctor can see you in English. 2. In Seoul, the city's foreigner portal lists big hospitals with international healthcare centers; languages and hours vary by hospital. 3. Check the government list of institutions registered to attract foreign patients, and call ahead; registration alone doesn't guarantee English. 4. If you live, work or study in Seoul, the city offers free medical interpreters who go with you to the hospital. Apply in advance through the yearly notice on the Seoul Foreigner Portal (rules change each year). Questions: Dongbu Foreign Resident Center, 070-4523-1394. You can also search Verihood for clinics that reviewers say offer English consultation.
