I prepaid for skin clinic treatments. Can I get a refund?
Usually yes, for the part you haven't used. Under the consumer dispute standards, the clinic can deduct the treatments you've had plus a cancellation fee and should refund the rest. What to do 1. Tell the clinic in writing (text or email) that you're cancelling and want a refund. Keep the contract, receipts and treatment record. 2. Ask for the calculation in writing: the charge for sessions used, the cancellation fee and the refund amount. Compare it with the current standard on the 1372 site. 3. If they refuse or the numbers look wrong, contact the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center (call 1372 or ccn.go.kr). Your case can be passed to the Korea Consumer Agency for damage relief and mediation. 4. Paid by credit card in installments? Ask your card company whether you can stop the remaining payments after cancelling. Good to know • The Fair Trade Commission has found clinic terms such as "no refunds for change of mind", "no refunds after a set period" or "no refunds on event packages" unfair, and the clinics it reviewed agreed to fix them. • If the clinic is at fault, the standard gives you compensation on top of the refund.
